Good morning fellow blog lovers. It has been quite some time since my last post. But I am glad to announce that I am ready to start this year of with a great article. Recently, on the 21st of January I decided to micro blade my eyebrows, since I really do not have a lot of hair in my brows. (It was actually a birthday gift from my mom to me). Best birthday gift ever!🎁🍾🎉
Before and After photos
I have tried every pencil, brush, eyeshadow and stencil but I was just never satisfied with the results, and then I saw this big new trend which is called microblading. So for those of you who don’t know, microblading is a more permanent technique of creating brows, it is a process where the pigments is implanted under the skin with a manual handheld tool with a few blades inside that cuts threw the skin and allows the pigment to enter the skin! It is a face tattoo- not quite, but I like to think so. Microblading is hair like strokes provided with permanent makeup which fully camouflages the missing eyebrow hairs.
So I was told before the procedure- 24 hours before to not drink any alcohol – which will cause the blood to thin and increase bleeding, and to not drink any caffeine- sounds strange? The reason for this is, caffeine heightens the senses which will result in the pain being worse.
Lets talk about the pain – it is definitely an uncomfortable feeling, but not unbearable. It feels like the brow area is being waxed, while the blade is making the incisions. And the pain goes away, because before the brow technician moves onto the other brow, she applies a numbing cream which makes the pain bearable. Before the process even starts, she draws out your future brow shape, and when you are happy with the shape the process begins.
Take a look at this video on YouTube, which includes the process of the brows being done and the first 6 days of the healing process.

The after care is the most important part, so basically for the next two weeks after the brows were microbladed, you cant go into direct sunlight, no water near the face and no sweat, since these factors can harm or fade the pigments faster. Special oil is provided which should be applied twice a day. Jacqueline’s browtique provided me with a little gift bag which included a nail buffer, ear buds to apply the oil with and the oil.
My eyebrows were done at Jacquelines Browtique, in the Cresta crossing centre by the Mc Donalds. 289 Beyers Naude, Northcliff. I paid R1600 for the microblading and was very happy with the service I got. Jacky is very friendly and puts you at ease the moment you walk in.
Eyebrows is the new confidence!
What do you think about this and will you do this? Let me know in the comments below.
Have an awesome day 🌷
